WORCESTER City chairman Dave Boddy said the club were expecting to conclude a loan deal for a goalkeeper later today ahead of Saturday's Nationwide North fixture at Southport.
City have been on the search for a new man between the sticks following unfortunate injuries to regular goalkeeper Danny McDonnell and stand-in Aaron Kerr.
Manager John Barton is desperate to draft in a goalkeeper with years of experience rather than hand the gloves over to rookie Lewis Skyers.
Boddy said: "We have narrowed it down to two goalkeepers. One is currently with a League Two club and the other is in the Conference. Both are experienced in the Football League.
"We are hoping we will tie something up with one of them later today. It will initially be for a one-month loan and then we would take things from there."
McDonnell is sidelined for the next six weeks after breaking three ribs during City's FA Cup defeat at home to Cambridge City on October 2.
