Kings Norton 5
Solihull 30
THE Kings men were knocked out of the Powergen Vase by Midlands West Four leaders Solihull in a tense encounter at Ash Lane.
A penalty score on eight minutes gave the visitors an early platform and the guile and experience of Solihull's back row saw the visitors breakthrough the Norton line on 20 minutes with a try.
Another penalty just before half-time saw Solihull go into the break 11 points up.
From the restart, the home side were rocked back when a ball squirted out of their own scrum and Solihull made no mistake with an unconverted try.
Norton's fly-half Pete May finally got the Kings on the scoreboard, but Solihull's class showed through again in a 10 minute spell when they created two excellent scores both of which were converted.
Kings return to league action on Saturday away to Stourbridge Lions.
