A BARNT Green woman has unveiled her second colourful textiles exhibition at Bromsgrove Library which will last until October 30.
Dutch-born Ineke Berlyn, of Marlbrook Road, Bromsgrove, showed some of her work two years ago at the Stratford Road library and received such an enthusiastic response she has opened another one - this time with her equally creative daughter, Liske.
Ineke said: "Almost all of the fabrics used in these art quilts are hand-dyed with either procion dyes or indigo.
Ineke said: "I also enjoy experimenting with printing and embellishing hand-dyed fabrics."
She added: "The inspiration for my landscape quilts comes from the contemporary Dutch painter Ton Schulten. I adore his use of colour and the composition of his pieces."
After taking a City and Guilds course in patchwork and quilting, Ineke displayed her work at various exhibitions around the country.
When her daughter graduated from Leeds University with a first class honours degree in textile design, Ineke thought it would be a nice idea for them to exhibit together and for Liske to show off her graduation pieces.
So far the response has been very favourable with a number of pieces being sold.
Ineke also runs workshops on using textiles and mixed media.
The next one will start in September 2005. For more information contact Ineke on 0121 445 3011.
