MEMORIES of Vesta Tilley and the age of the Music Hall will echo around St. Paul's Church Worcester this month.
Parts of a collection of Vest Tilley's own fan mail scrapbook and cuttings book, together with some of her costumes, will be on display to accompany a lecture on Vesta and her place in the British Music Hall history.
Vesta Tilley was born in Worcester in 1864 and went on to become an international star until her retirement in 1920.
The County Record Office, County Museum and Worcester City Museums have combined to put on the evening's event at St. Paul's Church, St. Paul's Street, Worcester on Wednesday October 20 starting at 7.30pm. Admission is by ticket only. You may order tickets by ringing the Record Office on (01905) 766 352 but only a limited number of seats area available.
The Museums and Record Office plan to run a more extensive exhibition and events programme associated with Vest towards the end of next year.
