PARENTS went back to school to help celebrate family learning week.
Pupils at Beaconside Primary School, in Hazel Road, Rubery, were joined by their mums and dads last Thursday.
The day was part of the Family Learning Programme, giving parents the chance to help their children learn while improving their own literacy skills.
Last week's class saw parents team up with Chris Redmond, early-years co-ordinator and advanced skills teacher, to plan activities supporting their child's learning. Parents also had the opportunity to brush up on their own skills with help from Pat Mortimer, a tutor from new College.
Chris said: "The day was a great success and lots of fun. The classes give parents a chance to spend time with their children that they wouldn't normally get. I hope the success of the classes carry on for many years to come."
