IT is unbelievable that I find myself talking about more injuries at Worcester City when we've not had a game at the weekend.

I thought we might have been able to enjoy the break away from any fixtures but that has not been the case with the news of Barry Woolley and Christian Moore.

It's just unmanageable at the moment. At this rate, I'll soon be banning anybody from crossing the road or tying their shoelaces for fear of something happening.

I felt sick when I heard what had happened to Barry. It is mind-blowing and it just shows that there are idiots out there.

Barry is such a lovely lad and nobody at the club would have wished this on him.

He would have played for us on Saturday against Southport in our next Nationwide North game.

He had worked hard in training last week and, with the progress he had made getting over his ankle injury, we were ready to throw him in at the deep end.

Barry has broken his jaw and it could take between six to eight weeks to heal. We've got to get him right, not just with the jaw but over the mental barrier of it all too. He is on a liquid diet at the moment and he will have to see a dietician at some stage during his rehabilitation.

Another huge blow for us is that Christian is out for nine months.

He has been diagnosed with ruptured anterior cruciate ligaments to his right knee.

We had been waiting to know the extent of the damage to his knee for some time and there were some issues in terms of accessing scans.

He will now have an operation next Thursday and there is no chance of him playing for us until pre-season next year. There will be a very careful rehabilitation process for Christian to stick to and that takes a very long time.

So now we have Christian and Barry out, along with Jai Stanley and Danny McDonnell, all for quite a substantial period of time.

That is the spine of the team, from front to back, out through injury.

The chairman has gone on record to say we can't afford to bring in any loan players to replace them and I have to stick to that. We have made a commitment to these players.

I've not even mentioned Paul Carty, Rob Warner and Leon Kelly, who are still looking to shake off their own injuries. Adam Webster's ankle problem has not improved and he will be seeing a specialist.

Even with these problems, we are not looking for any sympathy. We've got a game to focus on this Saturday and it is will be a challenge for us at Southport.

There was enough guts and character shown against league leaders Alfreton Town but we need to show that it was not just a one-off performance.

We need to produce that again and again.
