REDDITCH fundraiser Sue Medcalf this week helped boost a major fund-raising campaign for Cancer Research UK by highlighting the scale of the disease in the region.
Mrs Medcalf posed with 10 pink roses, symbolising the number of Worcestershire women diagnosed with breast cancer every day.
The campaign, called 'Making Strides Against Breast Cancer' is asking people to think pink and raise money to support scientific research.
Mrs Medcalf said: "As I stand here with 10 pink roses, it's incredible to think each one represents a Worcestershire women who will today be given the news she has breast cancer.
"Thanks to cancer research, treatments for the disease are more effective than ever, but sadly, not everyone survives.
"More needs to be done before breast cancer is conquered and that's why I'm urging everyone to support Cancer Research UK."
Mrs Medcalf added: "There are so many ways people can support us. One idea is to organise a 'dress pink' day at work or hold a pink party for friends and family."
The charity has organised a 10km sponsored walk at Ragley Hall on October 31.
About 40,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
