Evesham & District Airgun League
TWO teams who made prog-ress in the Harvey Hunt Cup played out a real thriller in the league when just one point separated them at the end of a pulsating struggle.
Keith Harris was the hero for Lygon Arms in a one-point defeat of Badsey RBL after scoring a maximum but spare a thought for Graham Sams whose score of 47 proved in vain as the visitors snatched a 276-275 success.
Harris was one of two players to hit 50 and the maximum from Willy Haines helped Campden RBL to the highest team score of the season as they defeated Wickhamford SSC by six shots.
Bengeworth boasted a trio of shooters with 45 against their names but they still failed to account for Stanton Club for whom Paul Busson scored 48 to lead his team to victory by five shots.
Offenham's Jamie Beadle scored 49 in his side's 272-253 victory over Nomads, who were victims of Badsey RBL in the cup preliminary round after a 274-266 scoreline.
The New Inn also tasted a double dose of defeat when, after losing out to Badsey Rec in the league, the Willersey side proved easy victims for the Lygon who won by 28 points.
