TWO religious memorial murals given by Donald Gilbert of London in memory of his father Walter, one of the founders of the Bromsgrove Guild along with Lous Weingartner his loyal assistant for many years, were dedicated at a service at Hanbury church. The originals had been used for part of the reredos at Liverpool Cathedral.
COURT Leet Bailiff Norman Owen hosted the annual dinner for 90 guests at the Golden Cross Hotel in Bromsgrove. Centrepiece of the meal was a boar's head, coated with chaudford sauce, complete with an apple between its gleaming tusks.

Thomas Woolf in High Street, had 18-piece tea sets on sale for 11/9 (59p) and Pedigree prams marked at £14/19/6 (£14.97). British Rail was running a trip to the Hawthorns for the clash with Aston Villa for 3/- (15p) return.
