ORGANISERS are already busy planning next year's Tenbury Carnival. Groups are to start soon preparing floats for the procession, which will start the carnival from Brightwell's auction yard next May 30 at noon.
Well, they hope it will start there. The sale of the auction yard means that by the time of the next carnival the situation might have changed.
It is hoped to attract the BBC Strongest Man to the carnival next year, and the committee is calling on local fitness gurus to start training for the contest to find Tenbury's strongest person.
They are also after ferrets and their owners, for ferret racing will be one of the attractions of the carnival afternoon.
It promises to be an enjoyable, fun-filled family day. There will be the usual barbecue, bar and family entertainment, and those attending will be serenaded by local bands. Anyone wishing to get involved should contact Julie Cook on (01584) 810291.
There will again be a large craft marquee, and anyone wanting to book a place in it should contact George Price on (01584) 810768.
The Cellar Boys are to play at a fund-raising event for the carnival, being held on Saturday, November 27 at St Michael's Village Hall, Tenbury.
After this year's successful carnival, the committee has donated £400, shared between Tenbury Festive Lights, Tenbury and District Museum Society, Caf 27 and Age Concern.
Committee member Caroline Palethorpe said: "We would like to thank the local community for their continued support."
