GARDEN CLUB: The speaker at the September meeting was Duncan Coombs on the subject of pruning and cure of shrubs. Mr Coombs is a lecturer of Pershore College and produced an array of shears and tools. He advised the audience to try the tools at the garden centre or shop before buying them. Pruning was essential to vigorous growth.
The competition, a vase of three items of autumn flowers, was won by Christine Savage, Margaret Wright was second and Henry Kuln was third. The next meeting will be on Monday, October 25 at the usual time and venue. It is also the AGM. The speaker, David Everitt, will lecture on Gardens and Their History. The competition is for a vase of autumn foliage and berries.
