THE 7-1 scoreline flattered Wednesbury against a patched-up Kidderminster squad missing several key players.

With regular goalkeeper Martin Roberts sidelined, seconds goalie, Tom Eales, made his debut in what was always going to be hard game.

Wednesbury were two goals up after just seven minutes, as they exposed some indecisive defensive play.

A good period of play saw Kidderminster put considerable pressure on Wednesbury, but they were prevented from converting this pressure into goals by an outstanding performance from the home goalkeeper.

Kidderminster were caught on the break just before half-time, and Wednesbury added another four breakaway goals in the second half.

The physical nature of the game took its toll on the Kidderminster squad with Chris Page, Ajay Sandhu and Andy Pocknell all picking up knocks.

Late on Kidderminster did restore some pride as top goal-scorer Matt Edwards lashed an effort past the Wednesbury goalkeeper.
