KIDDERMINSTER Ladies were unable to overcome their selection problems as they suffered a heavy home defeat to Cresconians.
Down to 10 players because of injuries and unavailabilities, Kidderminster slipped to a 5-1 setback.
The visitors scored early and nerver looked back despite some resolute defending from the hosts.
Kidderminster did manage to restrict Cresconians tothat one first-half goal, but after the break the onslaught arrived.
Some superb goal-keeping by Julie Rowe helped to keep the away team at bay and prevented the score from reaching embarrassing proportions for Kidderminster.
Captain Kay MacDonald restored some pride when she scored a consolation goal from the edge of the D, which flew into the left-hand corner of the net.
But it was too little too late as Kidderminster failed to find a way back into the game.
The club are hoping to recruit new lady hockey players. Practice is on Thursdays at 8.30pm at King Charles I High School astro turf. Players of all ages are welcome.
Anyone interested is asked to just turn up with a hockey stick.
