A MAN of the match display from goalkeeper Aaron O'Malley failed to stop Stourport from slumping to their second defeat of the week at the hands of Sutton Coldfield Town.
The Walshes Meadow side were dumped out of the Staffordshire Senior Cup in midweek but there was to be no revenge for the Swifts in Southern League Division One West as a solitary Naveed Arshad goal gave the home side victory in this league encounter.
The goal came after just seven minutes, Exodus Geogahan's throw-in finding the former Redditch United striker who fired home.
The impressive John Shirley thought he had levelled moments later with a curling long-range free-kick only to have the effort ruled out for offside.
O'Malley's heroics denied Richard Ball from scoring against his former club and then Arshad was denied by an excellent point blank save.
Both sides were reduced to ten men early in the second half when Ball and Stourport's Nicky Green were dismissed following a scuffle.
But there was no let-up in the pace and the closing stages saw Arshad again denied by the Swifts stopper.
With ten minutes remaining, Andy Checketts should have levelled but wasted a good opportunity by blasting his shot over the crossbar from 15-yard.
