ONCE again local yobs make the headlines with their senseless vandalism.
Rhydd Covert has given pleasure to thousands of Scouts for so many years, but now it is a pile of ashes thanks to a few more of our local idiots.
Each week your newspaper tells us about the activities of these type of people, and it is getting boring. It is no good blaming the police, because they cannot be, and never were, everywhere at once. You can rest assured, our criminals do not inform the police station where they are going to strike next.
Our politicians are forever telling us what they are doing to reduce crime, and then massage the figures to prove they are succeeding. Well Mr Blunkett, you are not!
Where should we start in an endeavour to control this anti-social behaviour? At their home address.
Poor parenting is usually the reason. If a child is never taught right from wrong, then how can they ever appreciate that their actions are not acceptable.
Each parent should be accountable for the actions of their children and made to realise that they alone are the example-setters.
Regrettably, too many parents have no idea where their children are at any given moment, and probably don't care. Why should Mr and Mrs Average have to put up with this "couldn't care less" attitude?
Name and shame! Penalise those responsible for letting their children ruin everything for everyone else. Start from infancy and continue applying pressure to these irresponsible folk who can't be bothered to bring their children up to respect everyone else.
