A LOT is written about the trials of the motorist, but I am sure they are nothing compared to the trials of pedestrians and mobility scooter riders when trying to cross the roads.

Every dropped kerb is parked across, and when there is a long stream of traffic cars also impede the zebra crossings, so that even when the green light is showing, we still cannot cross the road.

The mouthfuls of abuse we receive is something too foul for anyone to have to listen to.

In 40 years of driving I always gave way to pedestrians, as I was taught. But even common decency should make drivers do that when they are in a warm, comfortable car, while we have to face the elements.

Why can't we have more traffic wardens? They are sorely needed.
