KIDDERMINSTER Carolians rugby club hope their junior section will really take off when they hold a sponsor's day this weekend.
A hot air balloon is being launched at noon on Sunday to celebrate the event which also sees the under-13s take on Moseley.
KC's under-13s were unlucky to come away from their home match with Droitwich with a narrow 36-29 loss after a good performance.
Charlie Evans led the scoring with a hat-trick, while there were tries from Alex Hopkirk and Will Short, who also added two conversions.
There were two close defeats for the under-12s against Droitwich.
Sam Taylor, Stuart Whitehouse and George Tildesley scored tries and Nick Jame skicked three conversions as they lost 26-21.
Dan Edwards crossed twice in the second game and Craig Wassell and Sam Buncle were also on target with three Rhys Kay conversions as they went down 28-26.
Edwards and Anthony Lock were the star players in each game.
The under-10s shared the spoils in a 10-10 draw with Droitwich with Aaron Pooler stealing the show with two tries.
They won their second game by six tries to two. The scorers were Josh Bell, Liam Jones, Charlie Hopkirk, James Tildesley, Lewis Hardy and Sam Needham.
Tom Phipps scored all four tries as the under-nines won at Droitwich by four tries to three.
A Mitchell Dwyers try was all they had to shout about in their first game which ended in a heavy defeat.
