QUESTIONNAIRES which will help shape the future of Broadway are due to be sent to every household in the town next month as part of the parish plan.
The parish plan's steering group, a community driven project, has a budget of £9,000 and it will be doing in-depth research and open consultations on any major ideas which come out of the questionnaires.
The 12-strong group of volunteers were granted £5,000 for the plan from Awards For All, a lottery award at the end of last month.
Cllr Michael Gordon-Smith, chairman of the Broadway Parish Plan, said: "I'm extremely pleased at how things are moving along. We have business people and community people, all of who give up their time and effort for the parish plan. We are putting down a vision for how the community sees the parish for five years. We are going to be putting down an action plan for key priorities that the community wants to see happen. Phase one will be the questionnaire to every household in Broadway. Everyone in the village will be given the opportunity to have their say, if they don't do it now, they can't turn around six months later and say, 'we didn't know.'"
When Broadway Parish Council decided it wanted to have a parish plan, a sub-committee was set up, then a steering group.
Cllr Gordon-Smith is the only councillor in the steering group.
The questionnaires were due to be discussed at the steering group's second meeting yesterday.
The steering group is looking for two more people, preferably younger residents, to join it. Contact the group on 01386 859090 for further details.
