TOP children's theatre is being staged on a Saturday afternoon in Stratford now that the popular Playbox Plays In The Attic is being revived.
The theatre company for young people, which has a base in Stratford, is opening its doors at Cox's Yard at 3pm every Saturday for the next nine weeks and allow in a professional company to stage a one-off show.
The first is on Saturday when international award-winning Storybox Theatre opens the season with Jack. The show will see performer Rod Burnett tell the tale with the help of live music and puppets.
The following week, Adam Bampton-Smith is telling The Legend of Perseus, the hero sent on a quest to kill Medusa and then Indigo Moon Theatre is bringing its puppet show The Worm That Squirmed to town on November 6.
Stories of The Spaceman, The Emperor and the Nightingale and The Jumblies see out November and in December, watch out for The Misguided Adventures of Pinocchio, The Enormous Turnip and The Bullseye - The Adventures of Theseus which run from December 4 to18.
Most of the shows are aimed at five to ten-year-olds, although some would be suitable for younger children. Tickets are all £6 or £20 for a family of four.
