WHATEVER Kidderminster Harriers' players were on against Scunthorpe, Jan Molby should patent it, because they might have finally found a recipe for survival.

Two poachings of Foster and a pinch of Langmead were the garnish - but there was no doubting the main ingredient.

Although never-say-die attitude has been in short supply for Harriers so far this season, there was oodles of it on Saturday.

To twice come from behind and win against one of League Two's most fancied teams is a tough task at the best of times.

But to do so when you have hit rock bottom and have failed to score more than one goal in a game all season is remarkable.

Molby knows a solitary success is not enough to transform Kidderminster's campaign, especially after the false dawn of last month's Macclesfield win.

However, with Saturday's victory, his players have set their standards and it is up to those in the Aggborough dressing room to maintain them.

One player who must continue to hit the same heights is Jesper Christiansen after his magnificent man-of-the-match display.

The much-maligned Dane has been a scapegoat during the club's slump as his failure to find continues.

But Christiansen's switch to left midfield seems to have done him the world of good and his work-rate and will to win was immense on Saturday.

So too was that of Ian Foster, who despite being advised to rest a niggly knee problem, played through the pain barrier to chase every lost cause.

His reward arrived with a deserved double which takes him to four for the season and makes him Harriers' clear top scorer.

DRAMATIC

Hoping to close in on him is Kelvin Langmead who opened his Kidderminster account in dramatic fashion with the last gasp winner after also running himself into the ground.

But it is unfair to single out individual players on an afternoon when the entire team showed that perhaps they do have the spirit to keep Kidderminster up.

True, they did not have the same incisive movement and passing as Scunthorpe, but what they lacked in technique, they more than made up for in tenacity.

It looked like it was going to be another one of those days when Steve Torpey was given too much time and space at the far post to fire in Ian Baraclough's 18th minute corner.

Falling behind was harsh on Harriers who had started brightly, although they were given two earlier warnings when Paul Hayes volleyed over from a corner and John Danby saved at Torpey's feet.

But it was what happened next which gave the Aggborough faithful the most cause for encouragement.

Rather than dropping their heads and looking beaten as they have done all season, Harriers came out fighting.

Foster, who had seen a shot blocked by Andy Crosby and headed wide from a Langmead cross, made it third time lucky when his 26th minute strike deflected in off the Scunthorpe captain. It was just reward for the Scouse striker who came to the rescue to equalise again with a fine finish from Steve McMahon's cross on 69 minutes after Harriers' failure to clear had allowed Hayes to put the Iron back in front on 58 minutes.

Chances came and went for both sides, the best of which saw Danby saving bravely from Hayes and Cleveland Taylor, while Langmead, who dragged wide a golden first half chance, drew a full-stretch stop from Paul Musselwhite with a brilliant diving header.

But the moment of the match was reserved for virtually the last kick when Langmead broke his Harriers duck with a cracking 90th minute winner.

Skipper Wayne Hatswell started the move with a super sliding tackle which worked the ball to makeshift left back Shaun Cooper and when his raking ball with his wrong foot sent Langmead clear the on-loan Preston frontman stretched to fire in a fine finish across the keeper for a fantastic win which lifts Harriers off the bottom.
