JAN Molby is expecting the attacking instincts of his former Anfield associate Ian Rush to rub off on Chester City before too long.

Harriers head for the Deva Stadium on Tuesday night eager to upset the form of Rush's League Two draw specialists.

Since the Welsh striker took over, the Cheshire club have remained unbeaten, although they have tended to pick up solitary points rather than all three.

Defensive meanness has been the secret of Chester's success as they have gradually climbed away from the drop zone.

Going into this weekend's action, Chester had only scored nine league goals, just one more than Kidderminster.

But Molby believes it is only a matter of time before the goalscoring great gets his team firing in the opposition box.

"I wasn't surprised when Rushie got the job at Chester because it's something he's wanted to do and he's just waited for the right opportunity to come along," he said.

"Now it's up to him to prove he's up for the task and he's doing a reasonable job at Chester.

"If he does well there he'll get linked with jobs and there's already been people talking about him and the Welsh job.

"He knows that the way he is going to progress is if he gets results and he's got Chester solid at the back and grinding out results.

"They're unbeaten under him, although they've drawn a lot of games, and are doing well.

"But I'm sure Ian will want them to play attacking football and he'll be working on making them dangerous at the other end."

Junior Harriers will get the chance to experience Molby and Rush's old stomping ground on a guided tour of Anfield On Tuesday.

Those travelling on the trip, which is sold out, are reminded that the coach leaves Aggborough at 8am and 8.45am as originally planned.
