PERSHORE High School has taken up the challenge laid down by one of the latest BBC competitions called Geronimo.
The gauntlet is being thrown down to schools, industry and universities and to anyone who has fancied themselves as an inventor.
Pershore High Beach Stormers have risen to the challenge and made a machine that can travel across hard and soft sand as well as on water.
Tomorrow they are set to travel to Blackpool to compete on the beach with other teams from other parts of the country.
The programme is due for transmission next January.
The project has been led by teachers Neil Harding and Simon White and involved year eight students.
Parents have also given invaluable help, including scrap yard owner Robert Bird, who contributed some of the materials used for building the machine.
