TWO vandalised picnic tables in recreation ground in Broadway are set to be replaced soon.

The new tables, which arrived at the parish council on Friday cost £1,000 and have been paid for from money from the insurance claim.

Parish councillors hope that a CCTV camera may soon overlook the area where the benches were vandalised if Wychavon planners give the camera the go-ahead. The camera, which will be one of four planned for the town, was originally earmarked for a Wychavon District Council car park at the back of the Arcade. The parish council applied for CCTV with recommendations from the police. Parish clerk Eddie Vicker said vandalism in the village had increased during the last four months.
