BANDS that could entertain family audiences are being offered a platform by cultural chiefs.
The events team at Wyre Forest District Council is organising outdoor concerts for Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley and would welcome new performers.
Groups that can play 1960s-style music, country tunes or Irish folk are particularly urged to come forward. New or established bands would be equally welcomed.
Performers receive a small fee and all concerts are promoted. Anyone seeking musical entertainment is also invited to contact the council's cultural, leisure and commercial services department.
Councillor Nathan Desmond, the council's cabinet member for community and leisure, said: "This is a great opportunity for bands to play to new audiences.
"All council concerts are free to the public as we are aiming to provide entertainment that will appeal to a wide range of the community.
"We want to enhance the quality of life and cultural experiences for local people," he added.
