YOUNG sea dogs are set to celebrate the 199th anniversary of Admiral Nelson's naval victory at the Battle of Trafalgar this weekend.

Worcester Sea Cadets will travel to Cheltenham on Sunday to parade with other cadets from the region.

The event will include brass bands and activities for youngsters to try out.

The Cheltenham celebrations are part of a national network of events marking the famous victory - London's Trafalgar Square will be the focal point for the anniversary.

Jackie Cooper, who runs the Worcester Sea Cadets, said the Battle of Trafalgar was celebrated every year.

"Last year it was Worcester's turn to hold the parade, but this year we are off to Cheltenham for the parade," she said.

Youngsters wishing to try activities ranging from seamanship to first aid are urged to go along to the sea cadets to take part in a whole range of activities.
