WORCESTER radio station Wyvern FM has proved its popularity with city listeners by attracting an extra 21,000 listeners during the past year.
According to official radio audience figures released today, the number of people listening to Wyvern FM each week has leapt from 103,000 to 124,000 in the last year - a 20 per cent increase.
The station has also increased its share of the local market from 12.7 per cent last quarter to 13.5 per cent this quarter - a jump of six per cent.
"It's great to be seen as the best local radio station in the Two Counties," said Simon Monk, programme controller at Wyvern FM.
"We've worked hard to get here and we plan on staying the number one choice around here for a very long time."
