WORDS and images will combine when two of Malvern's artistic clubs exhibit together next month.
Malvern Writers Circle members submitted 20 poems to inspire the artists of Malvern Art Club and the Poets and Painters display in the Barry Jackson Room, Grange Road, will show the results.
Art Club chairman Edward Fahey said this was the third year the two groups had combined to hold the exhibition, which was very popular with club members.
"Malvern Hills District Council is aiming for collaboration between different arts groups in its arts strategy and this is us showing the way," he said.
Dudley Brook, former art club chairman, has painted a picture for the display.
Based on a poem about Pompeii, the watercolour features honey coloured cats, green lizards, and valerium.
Mr Brook said the poem inspired him because it was so colourful.
"It's fascinating how people interpret poems," he added.
The Poets and Painters exhibition runs from November 1 to November 7 between 10am and 4pm.
Malvern Gazette & Ledbury Reporter editor Nick Howells will open it at 5pm on Monday, November 1.
