A CELEBRATION of the life of poet Gael Turnbull, who spent nearly two decades in Malvern, will be held in Edinburgh on Friday, October 29.
Born in the Scottish capital in 1928, Mr Turnbull moved to Stiffords Bridge in 1964 and then to Malvern in 1974.
He was a GP at Ronkswood Hospital and St Johns House Surgery, in Worcester, and wrote in his spare time.
Mr Turnbull is best known for his part in the modernist British Poetry Revival during the 1960s and for his 'kinetic' poems.
He died on July 7 at a family event in Herefordshire.
The memorial service will take place at 7.30pm at Greyfriars Church, Candlemaker Row.
Anyone who knew him is welcome to attend.
