A MALVERN couple are horrified by a continuing campaign of vandalism against their baby daughter's grave.
Martyn Jones and Janine Jones-Ruff buried Jasmine at the cemetery of St Matthias Church, Malvern Link, in August 2001, after she was stillborn.
Since February 2002, floral tributes and other items have been repeatedly stolen and the headstone has been knocked over.
The most recent attack took place between last Saturday and Monday morning, when motor oil was poured on the grave.
"We don't know who's doing it or why, we just want it stopped," said Mr Jones.
"It's the stress. It's killing me," added his wife.
At first the couple thought the culprits were children, but after the headstone was knocked over they began to wonder if older people might be involved.
"There's no-one who's got any reason to get at us. I just don't know why they're doing it," said Mrs Jones.
After the oil attack, the family spent hours scrubbing the stone which is still stained.
The couple have reported the latest attack to police.
"They came round and interviewed us the same day and said they would be stepping up patrols in the area," said Mrs Jones. "They were brilliant."
Police spokesman Richard Bull said the attacks were distressing and confirmed police were mounting an investigation into the criminal damage.
Anyone who can help is urged to contact police on 08457 444888, quoting crime number 152/S/181004.
