EVESHAM United manager Dave Busst believes his side have a point to prove tomorrow as Ashford Town head to Common Road in Southern League Division One West (3pm).

The Robins met the Middlesex outfit a fortnight ago and crashed out of the FA Trophy in arguably their poorest performance of an otherwise promising season.

However, United have been boosted by new signings Wes Joyce and Simeon Williams, along with the return of creative midfielder Gavin O'Toole, since that disappointing cup exit.

The trio all played key roles in Evesham's fine 3-1 success at rivals Bromsgrove Rovers on Tuesday and Busst is confident of a repeat display.

He said: "Ashford are a good side, very competitive, and they played good football when they beat us in the FA Trophy. They closed us down all afternoon and we did not play particularly well. The players have got to try and make up for that.

"We've made three or four changes from the side that played in that match though. Ashford might think they know all about us from that game but there will be a few different faces this time.

"We need to put a good run of results together until our games in hand come into play in November and December."

Busst was delighted with his side's mid-week display and he gave special praise to new boy Joyce.

He added: "Wes had a hand in all three goals and I thought he led the line well at Bromsgrove, he was very effective.

"Our forwards combined well and caused a lot of problems. We played well overall and put our chances away this time. That makes a difference."

Defender Stuart Hamilton has struggled with the flu and will miss tomorrow's game but forwards Ravi Sangha (hip) and Williams (ankle) will start, despite picking up slight knocks.
