Blackouts looming
There are winter power blackouts looming, North Sea oil and gas will run out in the not-too-distant future, yet Minister Patricia Hewitt says it's far too early to act yet.
We are, however, building pipelines to import gas from Russia, and while we ignore the fate of our own nuclear power industry, we will buy nuclear-generated electricity from France.
