A ROMANTIC comedy in a Cuban setting should bring a ray of sunshine to Malvern Theatres audiences from November 1.
Starring Lloyd Owen, Paul in BBC 1's Monarch of the Glen, and film and stage actress Tara Fitzgerald, Clouds is penned by multi award winning author Michael Frayn.
World-weary journalist Owen and serious lady novelist Maria are sent to Cuba by rival newspapers to cover the same story.
The play takes a wry look at the British abroad as Owen and Maria learn more about Cuba and each other.
Clouds was originally produced in 1976 and this is its first major revival.
Michael Frayn's hit plays include Noises Off and Copenhagen. His novel Spies won the Whitbread Novel Award in 2002 and will soon be made into a film.
Ms Fitzgerald's prolific career has seen her star in films Brassed Off and I Capture the Castle and play Ophelia in Hamlet opposite Ralph Fiennes at the Almeida Theatre and on Broadway.
Lloyd Owen's recent West End credits include Closer at the Lyric Theatre and The York Realist at the Royal Court and Strand.
Clouds runs in Malvern Theatres from November 1-6. Tickets are £14 to £22 from 01684 892277.
