A 100-stone family - dubbed "Britain's fattest" by the nation's media - are celebrating after losing 23 stone and winning the top prize of a dream holiday on a TV show.
Mark and Jayne Phillips, together with their sons David, aged 16, Mitchel, 13, and Louis, 12, will be jetting off to Florida for a holiday of a lifetime in the Spring after slimming to a trimmer 77 stone since May thanks to ITV's Fat Chance.
The family, from Wichenford, near Worcester, competed against seven other fat families to see who could lose the most weight and their victory was announced on yesterday's show.
The Evening News reported on Wednesday that the Phillips used to guzzle a fry-up, a McDonald's burger, a Pizza Hut all-you-can-eat-buffet and a full roast dinner every day, topped up with 48 cakes, 24 doughnuts, crisps and 36 cans of coke.
But thanks to nutritionist Jane Deville-Almond, who told them they must "diet or die", they now live on salad, grilled vegetables, snack on fruit and take regular exercise.
Mitchel, who previously weighed an enormous 27-stone and could not even fit in his parents' car, has lost the most weight and now weighs 19st 6lb.
David has lost five stone and now weighs 10 stone, Louis lost three stone and now weighs 17 stone, Jayne last three stone and is now 12 stone 12lb and Mark lost four stone and is now 18-stone.
