EXPECTATION of success is high among the Edgar Street faithful -- and Bulls striker David Brown admits the club is currently falling short of their demands.
The 26-year-old insists last season's Conference achievements in reaching 91 points and scoring over a ton of goals fuelled pressure on United to reach those dizzy heights again.
Although Hereford made a solid start to the campaign, winning seven from their opening ten league games, a lull has set in with the club chalking up a poor return of two points from a possible 12 in October.
There was plenty of scratched heads at home to Woking last Saturday as United were forced to settle for a draw after surrendering a two-goal half-time lead.
Some supporters have now billed today's trip to second-placed Carlisle United as the club's biggest game of the season but former Telford United man Brown is not so sure.
He said: "It's too early to say. We've had a bad run in our last four games and not started the season as well as we hoped for.
"It is a big deal (to us) because we are not winning at the moment and not getting the results we want.
"There are high expectations and fans want to see what they saw last year. But this year, teams know what we are all about. We battered a lot of teams last year but now they are shutting up shop and it's a bit harder.
"From our own point of view, we should have won more games. It's not like us to give away a two-goal lead which we did against Woking.
"And we conceded a late goal at Accrington which cost us. Everyone who watched us that night knew we should have won. Perhaps we are not getting that luck that we've had in previous seasons.
"We are finding it hard to keep a clean sheet right now and, obviously, the emphasis has been on defending to try and get things right. The lads are still confident and we are not going to let this run affect us.
"We are going for a win at Carlisle. It's probably the ideal place to go to because they will come out at us and we will look to get at them on the counter attack."
