JAN Molby has captured a potential future Premiership star who will certainly be 'keen' to impress.

And Portsmouth striker James Keene's one-month work experience spell at Kidderminster Harriers does not count as a valuable extra loan.

This is because the prolific 18-year-old, who has grabbed 12 goals in 11 reserve and youth games this season, is not on a professional full-time contract.

Keene is still only a third-year scholar but has shown considerable potential, including impressing watching Harriers assistant boss Gary Barnett with a hat-trick in a second-string win over West Ham United this week. He goes straight into today's squad at Bristol Rovers and is likely to compete with Kelvin Langmead and Ian Foster for a starting place.

Harriers director of football Jan Molby said: "He's a young striker with a hunger to do well. He has done very well this season and I know Portsmouth rate him very highly. He is eager to do well and we should benefit from that."

Keene has scored seven goals in six fixtures for the reserves and five in six for the Under 18s.
