BUTCHER Chrys Titshall is celebrating his latest success after scooping four awards in a regional competition.
His company, Teme Vale Victuallers, of Little Lightwood Farm, Cotheridge, near Worcester, won four of the six categories entered and came away with eight gold medals and two silvers.
Judges at the British Pig Executive's event in Exeter were the first to taste two new varieties of sausage, "pork triple tender", which scored 98 out of 100 and "beef, chive and onion", which was crowned champion of the non-pork speciality sausages.
"Putting new products in front of experts gives the best evaluation you can have," said Mr Titshall.
Customers at Malvern Country Meals in Church Street, Malvern, will have a chance to try the award-winning sausages at a tasting on Sunday, October 31, the last day of British Sausage Week.
Two traditional Teme Vale favourites also won their respective championships - dry cure gammon, described by the judge as the best she had ever tasted and pork faggots, which scored 99 out of 100.
Gold medals also went to Malvern Victorian, Herefordshire pork, cider and apple and pork, sage and spring onion sausages, while silvers went to beef, stout and mustard sausages and dry cure bacon.
"They have had three regional events and we are the only company to have won more than one trophy, so it's quite something to have got four," said Mr Titshall.
