A CLAIRVOYANT whose benevolence was declined by the
Droitwich Mayor on the grounds of witchcraft has donated the cash to the Sea Cadets.
And fortune-teller Julie Angel-Guest will present the money at the Cadets' spooky Hallowe'en disco on Saturday.
Last week, the Evening News reported that Julie Angel-Guest had organised a charity
prediction night, but Droitwich Mayor Ann Taft, decided not to accept the proceeds for her charity, the Girl Guides, after receiving letters from residents accusing her of letting witchcraft into the town.
Instead, the Guides' loss will be the Cadets' gain when they receive a £200 windfall.
Worthwhile
"I was trying to do something worthwhile for the Guides, but in-stead the money will go to the Cadets.
"I was in the Air Cadets when I was younger, so I know the money will be spent on something worthwhile," she said.
Jackie Cooper, who runs the Cadets, said it was an unexpected piece of good luck.
"After I read in the Evening News that her offer had been turned down, I rang her up and she generously offered us the money," she said.
She added that she did not know what the money would be spent on, but it would be used wisely.
n The Sea Cadets Hallowe'en disco will be held at their headquarters on Portland Walk, Diglis, Worcester at 8pm on Saturday, October 30.
