MANOR Park travelled to West Bridgeford Lawn Tennis Club in Nottingham, to play the national quarter-final of the Peugeot Inter Club Challenge on Sunday.
The Manor Park team was Mike Marks, Chris Skinner, Elizabeth Veal and Alice Huskinson.
Elizabeth and Alice lost the ladies' doubles in two sets but the tie was saved when Chris and Mike won the mens' doubles 6-4, 6-4.
As the match now stood at one rubber each, the teams had to play a deciding mixed rubber. Chris and Elizabeth were leading the match 6-4, 3-1 when the opposition had to retire due to an injury.
Although a bit of an anti-climax, never the less a great achievement as they are now in the national semi-finals.
Their opponents will be a club from Edinburgh, luckily Manor Park will play at home and the match is due to take place in the next couple of weeks.
