Evesham Ladies 3, Badsey 1
BADSEY started the stronger and more physical side and at times dominated play.
Evesham couldn't get into the game and struggled to string passes together and were punished for their efforts when Badsey took the lead midway through the first half.
Evesham had chances to equalise but the Badsey goalkeeper ensured her side led at the break.
After a team talk by coach Liz Sterling, Evesham came out a stronger and more determined side.
Tash Kuiper controlled midfield with her continuous physical presence and JoJo Barker made some excellent runs across the pitch.
Evesham were now in control and good teamwork saw Vanessa Dufty take the ball from the edge of the pitch into the circle and score from an acute angle.
Evesham were now definitely fired up with Helena Barker having an outstanding game in midfield having been out for some weeks after a nasty accident during a previous match.
Midfielders Fran Goodman, Hel-ena Barker, Katie Robinson and Tash Kuiper pushed upfield and Evesham were awarded a short corner from which Judith Taylor found the net.
Badsey never gave up and played some excellent hockey and the Evesham defence of Sam Witheford, Emma Wood and Helen Kennedy were put to the test.
Evesham took control of the ball and good work between the forward line of Dufty, Nicky Beasley and Jo Jo Barker saw the former score her second of the game and seal a well deserved win.
