ON SUNDAY Wythall A continued their unbeaten run in Division Two of the Stratford and District League with a 2-2 draw at home to Henley A.

Paul Foster and Jake Smith were the first pair for Wythall, playing Howard and Vickers.

The home pair began well, breaking serve twice early in the first set.

They kept control throughout and won 6-0.

Both Foster and Smith continued to play well in the second set, but the visitors fought back until Vickers was broken in the fifth game.

This proved decisive and the Wythall pair won the rubber 6-0 6-3.

Wythall's second pair of Kevin Turner and James Fox faced Summers and Turner who broke in the third game of the set and took command, winning 6-2.

The visitors were simply too good for the home pair and won the match 6-2 6-1.

The reverse rubbers saw Foster and Smith face Summers and Turner from Henley.

The home pair held the visitors at 2-2, but Summers was punishing any mistakes and eventually this told when Foster was broken and Henley won the first set 6-2.

In the second set again the visitors were on top and won the match 6-2 6-3.

Turner and Fox played Howard and Vickers in the final match of the rubber.

The Henley pair soon broke Turner early in the set and retained the advantage to win the first set 6-3.

Fox held serve in the first game of the second set and broke Howard's serve to have a 4-0 lead.

The home pair levelled the match 6-2.The final set was closely fought but the Henley pair was always in front.

From the serve, Howard netted his return, Fox then held. Howard served but first Turner and then Fox hit winners and from match point the visitors were broken.

On Turner's serve Wythall had two match points, the first Turner put out but on the second lobbed to give Wythall a 2-2 draw.
