Chairman Betty Long greeted the members and visitors after which the meeting continued with the reading of last month's minutes, and the treasurer's report.
Joan English gave details of the forthcoming visit to Stratford-upon-Avon. Mary Rutter announced that the programme for 2005 is complete and ready for printing and Brenda Graham gave further information about the winter luncheon in January at the Bridges Restaurant at Hindlip.
There was a change of speaker; David Wise talked about his daughter Rebecca, who was killed in a road accident aged 17. He talked of her as only a loving father can, and told us of her decision to donate all her organs for transplant medical use. As a result of her tissues and organs being used, about 100 sick people benefited. This made our audience think long and hard and as a result, more volunteers came forward and will contact the donor family network at Great Barr in Birmingham.
