IT'S time to remember the brave men and women who fought and died for their country.
Bromsgrove's Royal British Legion is launching this year's Poppy Appeal, with door to door collectors starting their rounds this Saturday.
Collectors will be calling at homes for the next two weeks in the run-up to Remembrance Day, on Thursday, November 11.
Street collections will be held in the High Street on November 12 and 13, before Remembrance Sunday on November 14.
A two-minute silence will be held at the Oddfellows Memorial, in the High Street, at 11am on November 11, with a Remembrance Parade taking place at 10am on Remembrance Sunday.
The parade will start at the Argos store, move down the High Street, and finish at St John's Church, Crown Close, where a silence will be observed.
Poppy Appeal organiser Fred Pearson said: "There will be a lot going on. The parade will include members of the council, army cadets, scout and guide groups, and many more, I am sure people will show their support."
The Royal British Legion would also welcome anyone who feels they can spare half-an-hour of their time to collect funds.
Anyone interested in helping with door to door collections can call Fred on 0121 445 6755.
