A TOWN nursery school is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
Since 1994, the Pear Tree Nursery, at Sidemoor First School in Broad Street, has seen more than 700 children pass through its doors.
Parents, teachers and education chiefs joined last Thursday's anniversary celebrations. County councillor Russell Clayton (Lab-Bromsgrove north) was invited to cut the celebration cake. It was Cllr Clayton, then chairman of the education committee, who officially opened the unit ten years ago.
Teacher Anne Taylor said: "The first ten years have been a great success. I can only see the nursery going from strength to strength."
Over 60 people attended the birthday party, which included tea and biscuits and a buffet lunch.
The nursery will soon be expanding when it moves to a new site at Perryfields, along with Sidemoor First School.
