ELGAR Robers, cab driver, Studley, and Thomas Kemp, labourer, Birmingham, were charged with fighting in Studley on September 28.
Roberts only appeared and pleaded not guilty to fighting on the highway.
Sgt Grubb stated that on the date named, at about 11.15pm, he saw the two defendants about to start a fight in the Back Road. He spoke to them and they left off for a time.
One hour afterwards, however, he saw them fighting in the field where the Studley Mop was taking place.
Roberts was exhausted and eventually his friend took him home.
The bench fined Roberts 2s 6d and costs and Kemp 5s and costs.
