THE river was well up for Sunday's racing at Arden SC but a brisk and increasing breeze enabled the dinghies to beat the current.
The first race was the Arden Burgee in which Eric Ison in his Laser performed well to win ahead of Niall Campbell and Jane Smee (Enter-prise) and Andrew Potts (Solo).
The second race was run in an increasingly stiff and exciting wind that caused more than one capsize.
The conditions suited Ison admirably as he won the Bert Thurlow Trophy race. Mean-while, Potts won the Solo race and the Enter-prise Trophy race was claimed by Campbell and Smee.
