THE rain did not stop a band of fundraisers hitting the streets of Studley on Saturday as they held a wheelchair race for a good cause.
The aim was to raise cash for the charity Dreams Come True which is sending Lee Grummet, 20, of Winyates, and his full-time carer Pat Atkinson on a safari to South Africa.
But Lee and his family wanted to give something back so together with care agency Helping Hands in Alcester, they tore round Studley in a sponsored wheelchair dash.
Lee's dad Dennis was delighted with the support. "We've raised £2,000 which is great," he said.
"We'd like to say a heartfelt thank you for the support of people who have sponsored Lee and Pat and also to Helping Hands for organising the event."
