A GOOD samaritan who returned stolen goods to their owners is being sought by police so they can thank him.
Three shed and garage burglaries were reported in Ilmington Close, Matchborough, on Monday.
Later the same day, a man knocked on the doors of people living there to return the property.
He told the owners he had seen some youths trying to hide it. The man then chased the youths away and knocked on people's doors until he found the rightful home for the property.
Sgt Neil Billingham said: "We'd like to get in touch with this man to pass on our appreciation.
"It's refreshing to see someone helping others and having gone to so much effort to locate the true owners of the property.
"The man is about 5ft 8ins tall, wearing a fawn jumper, jeans, a light-coloured baseball cap and he was well spoken.
"The victim of one of the thefts told us he was resigned to the fact he would not see his property again and was delighted when this man handed it back to him.
"If the man could get in touch with us at the North East Sector in Redditch on 08457 444 888, it would be appreciated."
