I AM writing in response to the letters you have published recently regarding disabled parking in Redditch.
I am appalled at the responses you have received from able bodied people moaning about the fact they have to walk a little bit further now the disabled spaces are on a level with the shops.
Surely they should be celebrating the fact they are able to walk that bit further as some people do not have that luxury.
I myself am a 24 year old who suffers greatly with my left knee but would never dream of complaining about walking as I still have the ability to do so.
People in this town should realise how lucky they are and be grateful for what they have the choice of doing as many disabled people are not given a choice.
They certainly didn't choose to be the way they are and I hope the people complaining about having to walk never have to find out what it is like to have that privilege taken away from them, as I am sure their opinions would then change.
If complaining about extra parking spaces for disabled people is all they have to do, then they must have very empty hearts.
