IN replying to Mr King's letter about post offices (Advertiser, October 13), I must point out to him that had it not been for legislation by this Labour Government, we would not be in the situation where we are now having to camapign for post offices to be kept open.

He might also like to speak to his colleague, Councillor Dot Dudley, who fears - as do many others - that we might see more and more closures until we only have the town centre post office left.

I can assure Mr King we are also campaigning against these closures and will be presenting our case to the post office.
