IN response to the letter relating to parking charges at the Alexandra Hospital, I wonder why the writer believes those who work there should have privileges not afforded to those working elsewhere.
I work for another NHS acute trust and we, along with other acute trusts, have been paying for our parking for years.
Office workers, shop assistants et al have had to pay for their parkng in public car parks, parking meters etc for much longer.
Furthermore, payments deducted from salary automatically carry tax relief. Not many workers enjoy that.
I do hope this is the last we hear about the matter. Unison must know all this and I hope they will advise their members accordingly.
